Birthday Tradition in Iran (My Country)
In Iran people celebrate their birthday too. Our parties and traditions are similar to many other countries and cultures. Almost everyone in my country celebrate his/her birthday. Either they have a big party with cakes and candles and lots of friends around them, with singing and dancing, or they celebrate it only with their own family. Sometimes we have dinner outside, or a little Cake & tea party at home. The birthday person will have a party to which friends and family are invited. Visitors to the party bring presents for the birthday special person. Friends and family send birthday cards to the birthday person. The birthday cake is prepared for this special day and decorated on a theme. A candle for each year is lit and placed on top and the child blows out the candles making a wish. The person whose birthday it is will make a silent wish and then blow out the candles. It is also very common for the "birthday boy" or "birthday girl" to cut the initial piece of the cake. Everyone in this special day has fun and wishes the best and good luck for the birthday girl/ boy.
